Stacy Hansen, Licensed Massage Therapist
1994 - Original massage therapy certification from The Body Therapy Center in Palo Alto, California.
2009 - 660 hours completion at Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield, Michigan. Training in orthopedic massage, sports massage, myofascial release, side-lying (prenatal), hot stone, cranial sacral therapy, and trigger point release.
In 1993 I began working at a day spa, in Palo Alto, CA, as a receptionist. As a benefit, all employees were offered one massage a month. I quickly realized the emotional and physical benefits of getting massage on a regular basis. It was then that I decided that I wanted to help others experience the same sort of relief I had found through receiving regular massages.
I am a firm believer in continuing education. After working in the spa industry for over 15 years I decided to go back to school in 2009 to enhance my previous massage training and to start my own practice, Body Therapy for Better Health. Two areas of interest to me right now are: cranial sacral work as well as advanced myofascial release techniques.
For the last six years I've been fortunate to work backstage providing massage to tours such as One Republic, Neil Young, Steven Tyler, Bette Midler, George Ezra, Amos Lee, Kelly Clarkson, Pentatonix, Allen Stone, Weezer, WWE, Rebelution, The Script, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, O.A.R., Peter Frampton, Kacey Musgraves, Sugar and the Hi Lows, Matt and Kim, Dancing With the Stars,, Paramore, Tyler the Creator, Miguel, Run the Jewels, Foster the People, Vance Joy, Billie Elish, Donald Fagan, Kevin Hart, Earth Wind and Fire, and Kendrick Lamar.
I am currently working at Lifetime Athletic in Bloomfield Hills - their only diamond club in Michigan. Every prepaid massage appointment allows you full access to the gym itself - including yoga classes, relaxing in the eucalyptus steam bath, a swim in the pool, or to try the state of the art equipment on the third floor!
Outside of massage, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, being outdoors, reading, and seeing new places.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me. I hope to meet you soon and help you along your path of better health and well being!
